Sequence & Ballroom Dancing Across The UK
This latest CD contains 22 tracks, all in sequence, ranging from old standards to some more recent songs.
The CD starts with 2 Sinatra songs as Blues, New York New York and Let’s get away from it all.
A beautiful Scottish tune, Highland Cathedral, as a waltz, gave me the opportunity to put a “bagpipe” feel to a track for the first time.
The quicksteps include the Real Thing’s “You to me are everything” and the 2 swings are Rolling Stones' songs.
The title track, “The Gypsy in my Soul”, as a foxtrot, is another great Doris Day song. The rumbas, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and the Spice Girls' “Two become One” are more modern tunes. I believe that music spanning the years can make great sequence tracks.
The tango, “Bad Guy”, which you may recognise from the BT Ads, was recorded after much feedback from dancers who enjoyed the “Disco” feel of “Funky Town” from a previous CD.
We decided to record “Highland Cathedral” a second time as a Gavotte, a bonus track for this CD.
We hope you enjoy dancing and listening to “The Gypsy in my Soul”.
